Our Pool Building Process:

The average pool takes 8 to 12 weeks to complete, not accounting for uncontrollable weather and permit delays. Project times vary largely on the scope of your construction project, your local jurisdiction and how quickly we finish the design and contract. Your dedicated pool construction manager will be with you from day 1 through completion to give you a single point of contact throughout the process.

Consultation

We come to you, allowing us to begin to visualize your new backyard oasis on-site. We will walk through your desired pool setup, visualize the pool in your backyard space, and walk you through the building process. We may even paint a pool and spa outline to get a sense of size and placement.

3D Design

Our expert designers will use our consultation notes, along with your home’s survey, to visualize what your new pool and spa would look like in your backyward. We will render a 3D design video and drawing to bring your idea to life!

Excavation

Before digging, we will physically mark the final outline of the pool and spa in your yard to ensure it’s in line with your expectations. Once you give the go-ahead, our crews will excavate your pool to prepare for construction.

Structural Steel

Our crews will install a steel rebar grid throughout the sides and bottom of the pool to provide lifetime structural support for the gunite. This will add a 3-dimensional visualization of your pool coming to life.

Plumbing

A plumbing stub out is installed by a certified plumber before any Gunite is installed to move water efficiently throughout the pool and any chosen water features all the way to the equipment pad.

Gunite

A special high strength mix of gunite (sand, rock and cement) is applied under high pressure onto the base of the pool and into the steel frame through a large hose. After Gunite installation, you will “water” the surface during the 5-7 day curing process. You’ll be able to see what your pool looks like, albeit unfinished.

Tile and Coping

Waterline tile and coping are installed after the concrete shell has cured. We will also install any hardware for waterfalls and deck jets. The look and feel of your pool design begins to take shape at this stage!

Decking and Patio

If you choose to extend your outdoor living space beyond the pool, we will install the decking, pergolas, fireplaces, kitchens and covered patios during this stage, in some cases in tandem with the pool build. You will start to see the real look and feel of your new backyard livings space!

Plaster

Plaster is the final stage of your pool construction, where our certified crews hand trowel a waterproof plaster finish of your choosing. We will immediately begin filling with water after plaster is installed and an acid wash has been completed. You’re only a couple days away at this stage!

Startup and Swim

A member of our service team will visit to start up all equipment once the pool is full, and will visit daily for the first week while the plaster begins to cure. We’ll complete pool school with you and then let you begin to enjoy your new backyard oasis!
